Despite the disruptions caused by COVID-19, Pathlight School saw an 8% increase (493) in the total number of applications for the Academic Year (AY) 2021.
The School enrolled 293 new students (as of 31 March 2021) for AY 2021 - compared to 248 new students enrolled for AY 2020. The bulk of admissions was for Primary 1.
The total student enrolment for 2021 was 1,766.
During the Circuit Breaker period (April - June 2020), students shifted to Full Home-Based Learning (FHBL). With the close collaboration and support from parents and teachers, students became more confident and self-directed in their learning.
With the return to school after FHBL, teachers and therapists worked in partnership with parents to help students adjust to the “new normal” routines and safe management measures. Teachers embarked on a curriculum recovery plan to address student learning gaps. To ensure that students continued to enjoy essential school experiences, school-wide celebrations, Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs), milestone events and industry visits were moved online.
Due to COVID-19, the School provided financial assistance to more students, from 45% in the last financial year to 48% in this financial year. As a financial support for Pathlight families, the School provided a 50% school fees offset for April 2020. It also loaned out IT devices to students from low-income families to ensure that they could continue accessing learning from home.

Learn for Life eCampus aims to provide 24/7 access to important life skills and online courses for students, families, and educators. This will ensure that learning is extended beyond the classrooms, school hours and school years.
The shift to FHBL during the Circuit Breaker accelerated the adoption of Learn for Life eCampus. Students used the platform for online independent learning. Educators and staff put together more rich and engaging content on eCampus as part of the blended learning offering.
